As buttonholes go the normal is either a rose or carnation , very simple no fuss . But as I have come to get used to the Victorian's and Edwardian's were never ones to shy away from what we class as normal. It would seem that the Edwardian and Victorian gentleman was not one to say no to ribbons and was quite at home with his single red rose buttonhole being graced with a flat very long tailed bow. This is a genuine style and can be seen a lot in old photos. |
